Emily Roberson

Emily’s love for birth started when she witnessed the birth of her nephew 14 years ago. She was in awe of the work being done by the doula, the labor and delivery nurses, and the midwife. Because of that experience and a continued calling to the field, she dedicated the next 14 years of her life to this sacred work.

After 7 years of work as a Labor and Delivery nurse, she decided to pursue work as a doula. While it was a change in context, she believed it would be a continuation of what she loved about being a Labor and Delivery nurse: supporting women through labor, being their biggest cheerleader, providing a hand to squeeze, and giving an ear to listen.

In any context, she wants to blend the experience from her own birth outcomes, her experience as a Labor and Delivery nurse, and the experience she’s getting as a doula to hold the tension with mothers between deep joy and deep sorrow, fear and peace, and pain and relief.

Emily is passionate about advocating for women and helping to provide a voice when needed. She thinks education is vital so clients can make informed decisions about their care.

LIKES: Camping with her family, reading, game nights with friends and family, traveling anywhere and everywhere, outdoor play with her kids, coffee dates, and spending ridiculous amounts of time in book stores with her husband.
